FRENCH EMB FACTORIES CODES

Emballeur code is assigned by DGCCRF (General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control). This code allows the administration - and theoretically alone - to identify the company that packaged food. Code contains information about department, type of packaged product and municipality where the packaging is made.

* Le Moulin Saulnier in Noisiel is classified as a historical monument in 1992. In 1996 Nestlé France opened its headquarters in the main building while other buildings in the complex are now part of a chocolate museum with tours open to the public.

"It was in 1995 that the DIPA subsidiary was created and developed by the Cémoi group. DIPA was founded with the aim of meeting the expectations of catering professionals with special requirements for chocolates and confectionery. DIPA benefits from the quality of the chocolate produced by Cémoi, which has a plant in Ivory Coast to track cocoa from harvest to processing. Since its creation, the company DIPA is based in the historic headquarters of the group Cémoi, in Perpignan. DIPA is now the second largest producer in France and the third largest producer of industrial products in Europe."

The Cémoi group owns 15 factories around the world. 10 french factories are shown below:

  • Chocolaterie Cantalou, Perpignan
  • Phoscao, Châteauneuf sur Loire (since 1979)
  • Chocolat De l' Abbaye Suisse Normande, Tinchebray (since 1982)
  • Chocolaterie du Moulin d'Or, Bourbourg (since 1988)
  • Chocolaterie d'Aquitaine, Bègles (since 1993)
  • Chocolaterie Aiguebelle, Sorbiers (since 1981)
  • Bouquet d'Or, Villeneuve d’Ascq (since 2003)
  • Jacquot et Cie, Troyes (since 2007)
  • Chocolaterie Mosser, Molsheim (since 2007)
  • Coppelia Real, Chambéry (since 1987)
Sometimes original names of these factories appear on wrappers until now (for example "Cantalou S.A." on wrappers of chocolate made for Spain) but most of them are signed as made by DIPA so it's hard to say which factory really made it.
